Edit - I see Monaf has posted up too and that Gadge is now grovelling and saying it was a personal issue! What a tool. I was tempted to post but I'll wait and see what others say first and whether Gadge will make his hole any deeper. I see that Webby and Scaley (with a very peurile reply) have posted, so I'm waiting for Yith and Evo to post up as members of the PBI support group.

Its just typical - no hint of any real apology, despite a bollocking from his boss. The bloke clearly has no idea what he has done.

I nearly choked on my coffee when I saw your post on the mod's forum.

Despite all of Gadges' protestations, his comments clearly were with him wearing his AI hat. He clearly has more issues than usual and I'm surprised he hasn't cited "medication" as an excuse yet. I hope that any damage done by this episode is repairable.

Gadge slapped down again on reenactor forum, by fallingplate no less!

I have to single out Gadge for his rather childish 'teddy out of the pram' comment to Spit n Polish. Show me a picture of a member of 2 OBLI wearing 'Parachutists Trousers' please, I will show you MANY photos of 2 OBLI wearing 'Smock Denison Airborne' . You know as well as I do that certain 'Airborne' designated item were issued to other units especially within an AB Div or Commando Brigade. Your statement simply does not stand up. From what I can make out this is a generic 'airsofter' attitude where 'counts as' clothing/kit goes. I don't want this to turn into a bitching match of airsofters against reenactors as a LOT of airsofters make a VERY big effort these days. However, all airsofters have been tarred with this brush, it will be hard to remove the stains, comments like yours Gadge do your hobby no good what so ever and dare I say it knocks your hobbies reputation back down a bit more.

Nooo, keep well away! Actually, I think fallingplate misinterpreted what Gadge said - plus he doesn't seem to realise Gadge is a reenactor not just an airsofter.

I think Stu did a really good editorial on Josh's game two.. showed the two types of WWII game (filmsim and 're-enactment') both in positive lights.

It's a fecking close to open day SISK as you can get!

In my opinion it is very 'off' having someone write a review of their own game (as Del was hinting at) although I'm sure Gadge would see himself as being objective!

I'll have a look at the mag tonight (I gave Stu my photos to use) and I'll use that as a pretext to drop him a line with an invitation to our January event.

PS I think Gadge thinks 'reeenactment' is all about dressing up the same - this obsession about kit does him no favours. I am really 100% behind the CiA philosophy that our events are about 'being there' - what you wear didn't matter to the soldier 70 years ago, fighting for his and his mate's lives did. In other words tarting about in pukka kit isn't the CiA way - by all means wear the correct kit and use the correct firearm but forget then about it, it ain't important!

Just ordered the mag' online. Worth a fiver to have a laugh at Gadges' self important, self review! It wouldn't surprise me if he was angling/arse kissing to get another "staff writer" job.

Oh, Gadge has been busy on other forums - self-promoting of course.

And yes, he has talked to the mag about writing for them. Heh, it was me that pointed him towards the mag when I got wind of what Stu was planning . Unfortunately Stu wasn't in a position to pay, the first mag's articles were all supplied free by writers but I'm not sure whether he found any money to pay for articles in this issue. Stu re-mortgaged his house to get this mag underway!

Not really, happens all the time - I re-mortgaged my house! Remember when you run a business your personal fortunes are inextricably linked with the business ones. Much cheaper to remortgage the house than take a bank loan. Either way, if things go tits up you lose the house!

Of course, whether the concept of a reenactors mag is a goer, well, all I'll say is other mags have come and gone! Stu is very proactive though, and if it fails it won't be for the want of trying.

Trure, but I was thinking more along the lines of an unproven business, especially something so niche.
